About Alicante Airport
Spain's Alicante Airport, originally named El Altet, is Spain's sixth busiest passenger airport and is the main airport for the Province of Alicante and the Region of Murcia. It is located 5.6 miles (9km) southwest of Alicante.
In 2011, Alicante Airport handled nearly 10 million passengers, all through the new terminal building which opened that year. It is the fourth largest hub for Ryanair, who fly to 59 different destinations from Alicante Airport
